When BMW brought out the i sub-brand to the market, they gave us a pair of models that are built to let us see two different performance levels to enjoy.
In the i3 hatchback that brings in the exceptional fuel mileage that we want and enjoy on many of the small hybrid hatchbacks and the i8 which is a hyper-dynamic sports car that’s built with tons of power to show what impressive technology can achieve. With two models that are so different on the road, it’s easy to see there is plenty of room between these two for us to have the car from this sub-brand that will fit into your lifestyle.
Check Out the Electric BMW Models
This segment of the BMW brand and what it offers is about to be expanded. There are supposed to be a few new EV sedans offered at the Frankfurt Motor Show to be what we’ll expect to have offered from this brand over the next several years. The goal of BMW is to offer us as many as 12 new EV models between now and 2025 to be the vehicles we want to have for the daily drive we’ll make that can be powered by electricity.
As the new EV sedan models are unveiled in Frankfurt we see the beginning of the realization by BMW of the vision they have of providing the EV market what we want to enjoy driving. This is no longer going to be a concept but instead, a reality in which we will be able to choose a premium luxury model that’s powered by electricity and offers us the quality features we expect to see in a BMW model.
BMW is Ready to Make Progress
These cars will have to be an excellent drive as well, making sure we can continue to know the BMW brand as one that’s the most dynamic on the roads we travel. One model we already know is coming is the new electric X3 SUV which will be the first core BMW model to be offered with a fully electric powertrain.
In addition to bringing 12 new models that are EV to the market, the BMW team has announced they will offer a variety of drivetrains on their vehicles starting in 2020 to give us a hybrid or EV model on every model they have to offer us across the lineup which will add more choices for what we want to have on the market.
Adding Range and Quality
BMW has developed its own new battery technology to find the right way to have the driving experience desired in their vehicles. This team is confident their new battery models can offer a range of up to 435 miles on a single charge, which makes a difference compared to other EV models that are just now only able to reach about half of that.
While we don’t have pricing or a production model to review just yet, the Frankfurt Motor Show gives us the stage to review what BMW brings to the EV market as they show us what they are bringing and adding to their lineup.
