There’s a new GMC Sierra pickup truck coming, and it’s not only fully electric but also a Denali with all the luxury and features expected.
It won’t be long before you can check out the Sierra EV at a GMC dealership; it should arrive this summer.
Wow, That’s A Lot of Power
When the GMC Sierra EV arrives, it will have a battery-powered electric motor that can generate 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque. This truck can tow up to 10,000 pounds and carry a payload of 1,450 pounds.
If you’re more about the speed and acceleration, it’s got that, too. Press on the accelerator, and this Sierra will zip from zero to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds.
What About Range and Charging?
When the Sierra EV has a fully charged battery, it can go up to 440 miles. When it’s time to charge, if you’re out on the road and need to get back to driving, you can add up to 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes if you use an 800-volt DC fast charger.
But What Can It Do?
Just like the GMC Hummer EV, the Sierra EV will have some unique driving abilities. The four-wheel steer makes it more maneuverable and keeps it stable while you are towing and hauling. It will also have the ability to crab walk. If you haven’t seen this with the Hummer, it allows the truck to move diagonally. The rear wheels can turn up to 10 degrees in both directions, and all four wheels can point in the same direction. If you find yourself in a tight situation, just crabwalk out of it.
Many, Many Unique Features
If you need places to store items or extra space for hauling gear, head to a GMC dealership this summer and check out the GMC Sierra EV. It not only has the Multi Pro tailgate, which can be configured in six different ways, but it also has a Multipro Midgate. If you fold down the rear seats, remove the rear window, and use the midgate, it expands the bed to 10 feet 10 inches.
Up in the front, instead of an engine, you’ll have a weatherproof storage trunk, where you can put extra gear you want to keep out of the way. Inside the cabin, expect to see all the luxury of a Denali, from open-pore wood, leather upholstery and a panoramic fixed-glass roof.
It Comes Loaded with Technology
Take a trip to a GMC dealership this summer to check out the Sierra EV pickup truck. The tech is modern and innovative, starting with the 16.8-inch diagonal touchscreen that stretches across the dashboard. It will also come with GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving technology, so you can relax and let the Sierra take the stress out of highway driving.
